Post 2: Waffles!

Tonight we prep Marion Cunningham’s famous waffles….we do this as an overnight yeast rise in the waffle mix, and they come out super crispy and light. That way you can wolf down eggs and bacon with them and feel (less) guilty!

Use really warm water to activate yeast…get that CO2 poppin’!
Let kids do most of the work… Teach them how to not cook eggs with warm Butter!
Make a mess. It guarantees you are actually working. Cleanup is a good skill, too.
Yeasted batter at 8 am….oh, yeah
Super crispy and thin.
I like ’em quartered and stacked!

I am the husband and father of a lovely family of 5, living in the Greenwood area of Seattle. We are all recovering from the effects of encephalitis having struck our lovely Wife/Mom. We are coming along, together, to recovery in many ways. We have been broken, but not destroyed! Finding our bond of love through cooking and eating together, and with friends, we will recover, stronger together than before!
